And we started off with a book,Cooking with Joan Roca at Low Temperatures, but then a new question arose: Was it really possible to do low-temperature cooking easily at home? We were aware that we needed to provide suitable tools for cooking in a simple and practical way in our domestic kitchens using this technique, so to be coherent with our wish we felt it was necessary to find a solution to this situation.

We've made the most of the benefits of low-temperature cooking for many years at El Celler de Can Roca and, as we delved deeper into the development of its techniques, a question arose: how could we bring this way of cooking into every home so that in an easy and practical way all of you could enjoy all of its benefits?
When we inaugurated La Masia (I+R) – our centre for training, creative development and the dissemination of knowledge – we decided that the time had come to seek solutions to make this idea a reality.
Then we struck lucky: our endeavour found complicity in the form of Cata Electrodomésticos and Lékué. We joined forces, and, from the shared knowledge, experience and research, Rocook emerged: a project to explain to you what low temperature means and how to cook with it. In addition, we propose recipes and ideas for you and we have designed equipment and utensils to make low-temperature cooking at home possible, easy and convenient.
Also joining in on our adventure was the food and science foundation Fundació Alícia, contributing its experience so that the Rocook project, from a scientific basis, would be healthy and sustainable. These are two very important aspects for us, and we continue working on them in greater depth because, in our view, they are the two major objectives for the cuisine of the future.

It is our great hope that this desire to bring low-temperature cooking into your homes will become a reality and that you will enjoy it as much as we do.
